Beauty, why do we let people and materials change our beauty?
July 20, 2014
The way I define beauty, is the way you love yourself inside out. True beauty is not defined by what brand of make up you wear, or wearing it at all, what brand of clothes you wear, how much money you have, physically attractive people you hang out with or how attractive you are, places you have traveled to and so on.
So many people define a lot about themself with all the materialistic things they have or don't have and they way they look on the outside to get approval from others. We all look for those things that will enhance our beauty so we can reach this sense of entitlement. The sad truth is that most people are truly not happy or feel beautiful, even with all these materials and people they have in their life. There is this sense of perception that needs to be outlined to hide what they actually feel deep inside.
You have to be happy with yourself from the inside and then the outside will tag a long with you. As much as you work out, eat less and strive to have that perfect body that you long for your whole life, does not equal beauty or happiness. Just because you throw on make up and put on a pair of designer jeans, will not make you any more beautiful than someone who is wearing no make up, sweats and hair in a bun. These can very well enhance the beauty you feel in the inside on the outside BUT it will NOT magically make you feel happy or beautiful if you are not on the inside.
We all strive to be this perfect human being and want everyone to look at us in aw or to be like someone else. Well, we all have a different life and story that we choose to live, no one person should be the same as another. & we should not compete with one another to make a statement or be better than someone else.
I have been in this realm of a world where I thought all these things would make me happy and beautiful but really all it did was make me more miserable, I was simply a fake in my own body. I let go of people in my life that had no purpose to my beauty and happiness, I let go of the feeling of being sorry for myself, I stood up and started to become the person I wanted to be, not how someone wanted me to be. Once you start forgetting about what people think, live the life you have always wanted to live, that is where your true beauty unfolds.
This does not happen overnight and it's not a hop, skip and jump to be in a place of beauty and happiness, it takes work, like everything else in life. If you want something, you have to work for it, don't expect it to be handed to you.
I've been on vacation for the last 2 weeks, I haven't been following a plan, I've been eating out and have not been going to the gym on the regular, does that make me guilty or any less beautiful/happy? HELL NO, enjoy life, do things that you love and remind yourself of being balanced and moderate. Hey, I may have gained a few pounds, who cares, I know who I am and what I want in life and if I really want, I can drop those pounds when I get home. Nothing in life should be permanent, dep
ending what you want in life, you can change it.
Thanks for tuning in, vacation has been a blast and I'm actually pumped to get back home and into the gym. :) Home is where the heart is.
